This Week’s New Books
If you’re wondering why I’m not linking this post up, check out this or this post.
I got a job! As person-that-puts-the-books-away. Yay!
Other than that, school work is kicking my butt once again. I have SO MUCH to do and to read and to work through, it’s not even funny. I at the moment barely have any time to read for pleasure, or even for review, so reviews will probably get pretty sparse in December.
- League of Sharks by David Logan – Sharkmen! Or something. This book sounds really interesting, and I have absolutely no idea what to expect [review copy received from Quercus Kids]
- The Clearing by Dan Newman – I also interviewed Dan; his book sounds pretty awesome, very King-esque [review copy received from Angry Robot/Exhibit A]
- Scott Pilgrim VS The World by Bryan Lee O’Malley – Graphic novels are perfect study breaks because they’re so short and they don’t contain too many words (after reading textbooks for a while, I like some visual distraction)
- How Fiction Works by James Wood – Needed this book for school, and decided to buy it because I’ve come across it in three courses by now. It gives a very readable account on the different levels of fiction narration, including character, detail, and focalisation
Have you read any of these? What new books did you get this week?
