Fall Titles I’m Pre-Ordering
Being on a very small budget (the joys of being an unemployed student) I can’t buy nearly as many books as I’d like. Therefore I try to only buy books I really, really, really want. My budget is mostly reserved for books by my favourite writers or books in a series I want to finish (usually both). This is a short list of books I’m pre-ordering this fall.

I love Veronica Roth’s books. Divergent blew me away, and Insurgent didn’t disappoint. I’m not that happy about the hype they caused because that led to an awful looking movie (as far as I can tell from the trailer). The books are a great combination of being action-packed and having interesting world-building. I can’t wait to see what’s going on outside of Chicago, and why they are stuck in there in five factions.
The cover looks great too, it’ll go great with the green and blue spines of the previous books.

Mira Grant’s reads were my absolute favourites in 2012. I can only expect her new parasite-related series to be just as great. I love how creepy the blurb sounds: We owe our good health to a humble parasite – a genetically engineered tapeworm developed by the pioneering SymboGen Corporation. When implanted, the tapeworm protects us from illness, boosts our immune system – even secretes designer drugs. It’s been successful beyond the scientists’ wildest dreams. Now, years on, almost every human being has a SymboGen tapeworm living within them.
But these parasites are getting restless. They want their own lives…and will do anything to get them.

Technically speaking this isn’t a pre-order, since Omens was released two weeks ago. But since it’s my list I’m allowed to cheat, and I’m going to order Omens along with the other two :D. Kelley Armstrong is an amazing writer; I’m almost finished with her Women of the Otherworld books and most of them have been four to five star reads. Omens is the start of her new series, set in a mysterious town where supernatural occurrences take place, but with more of a mystery/thriller kind of vibe than a fantasy/paranormal one. It sounds like it’s going to be just as amazing as her other series!
