It’s question time! Hannah from Once Upon a Time has tagged me and now it’s up to me to answer these ten questions that are passed on blogger to blogger in the digital equivalent of a pink post-it. This totally feels like high-school in the best way!

1. Which book, most recently, did you not finish?

The Thin Executioner by Darren Shan. I was so annoyed and disappointed in that book.

2. Which book is your guilty pleasure?

The Sookie Stackhouse series. They’re so entertaining and fluffy and they’re such perfect comfort reads. I don’t feel particularly guilty about reading those books though.

3. Which book do you love to hate?

That’s a hard one. I don’t “love” to hate anything. I don’t really get fuzzy feelings when hating on something. Surprisingly, I don’t hate Twilight although I don’t think the books are particularly good. One book I strongly disliked (pretty much as close to hate I can get) was Bumped by Megan McCafferty.

4. Which book would you throw into the sea?

None – that’s littering, I wouldn’t do that. I might throw one on the compost pile (without the foiled cover) if it was a book I didn’t enjoy and if I didn’t know anyone that’d like it AND couldn’t donate it to a local bookshop.

5. Which book have you read the most?

Without question Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. I read that book about fourteen times when I was little (remember those times when you could just finish a book and start over again without getting bored?) and then reread it about two times since elementary school. It’s still my comfort read for when I feel sucky, and I think I’ll enjoy reading it for the rest of my life.

6. Which book would you hate to receive as a present?

Hmmm, any book I already own? Or just a book that’s in a genre I don’t enjoy in general. I wouldn’t get very happy if someone gifted me a Christian romance novel, because I’d feel obligated to read it and then feel guilty for not liking it.

7. Which book could you not live without?

Does my organizer count? I have the memory of a goldfish, and without my organizer I would forget everything. I’m the person that’s always standing at the wrong classroom if the room is switched. I would even forget my own birthday if it wasn’t for my pretty minty green Filofax.

8. Which book made you the angriest?

Basically every book that mocks mental health problems (like Ten by Gretchen McNeil) or women or non-heterosexuals or kids or old people or Mexicans or aliens or unicorns. Don’t like books that are disrespectful!

9. Which book made you cry the most?

None! I talked about this on Twitter recently, but I don’t cry when reading books. I can count the only times I got a bit teary-eyed from a book on one hand. The only books I can remember getting a bit blurry sight from are Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (although that was mostly from frustration – WHYYYYYY did it end that way?) and The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray (that ending was SO GOOD).

10. Which book cover do you hate the most?

I don’t hate any book covers, I just find some of them very ugly. For example, most non-professionally made covers look very ugly (since they’re made with Paint, that’s not that big a surprise). But I dislike plenty of urban-fantasy covers that portray the heroine in a sexy pose and clothes, while the heroine would never be caught wearing that.
