This Week’s New Books
If you’re wondering why I’m not linking this post up, check out this or this post.
I have the bestest news ever! I applied for a job at the library in my uni town, and they called me for an interview! 😀 It’s in two weeks so I still have to wait quite a bit, but I’m really excited to be getting one of my dream jobs. I don’t even care if it doesn’t pay very well, it’s in a library.
- The Merman by Carl-Johan Vallgren – literary fiction set in Sweden about a brother and sister and a boathouse [review copy received from Hesperus Press]
- Carmilla by J. Sheridan le Fanu – vampires! Carmilla is written twenty years before Dracula, and it’s clear this book influenced Stoker quite a bit. I already read it (it’s about a hundred pages) and really enjoyed it [review copy received from Hesperus Press]
- The Language of Dying by Sarah Pinborough – I feel as if this week’s mailbox only consists of bleak books. The Language of Dying is about a woman sitting at her father’s deathbed [review copy received from Jo Fletcher Books]
Have you read any of these? What new books did you get this week?
