The Sunday Post 18/10/15

Sunday PostThe Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba from The Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I hope all of you are having a nice Sunday. Today I’m recuperating from the fabulous 24 Hour Readathon event, hosted every year by a group of lovely people. I like how the readathon is all about cheer, about sharing the reading love, and just leaving real life behind for one day in order to get some good old book time in. Through some lucky circumstances, I actually got to participate this time, and it’s been great! Unlike some other cool people, I never do the full 24 hours – I just try to read more than I usually would. And this time I definitely succeeded!

In other awesome news, we booked a trip to Milan, Italy! We’ll be leaving in December for a few days, and return in time for Christmas. We’ve been in Italy before, but never Milan specifically, and I’m really excited! As always, I will of course share all of the pictures and adventures in a travel post on Irresponsible Cactus.

If there is anything I love, it’s statistics and tables and pie charts, oh my. So, for your enjoyment, I share some of my spreadsheets in which I keep track of what I read. On the review front, I am discussing the last instalment of a fantasy trilogy called Iron Age.

I kept a log of every hour of the readathon on Irresponsible Cactus, so if you’d like to know more about what I did during the event, go check it out!

Read this week

It’s a good week for reading! Uncharacteristically, I finished two full length books and two graphic novels. Magic Slays was so good, I finished it in 24 hours. The Kate Daniels books are legitimately awesome, you guys. But the crown jewel of this week was undoubtedly Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. SHE HAS SQUIRREL POWERS AND SHE’S SO FRIGGING FABULOUS I WANT TO BE HER BFF. Best. Comic. Ever.

Oh, and I read The Scarlet Letter and Alex + Ada, which were both great.

BUT SQUIRREL GIRL. OH MY GOD.

How was your week?
