The Sunday Post #12
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba from The Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
What a dreary week it has been! Luckily the Bout of Books readathon was this week, so that motivated me to read quite a bit. I made this picture of my TBR, but so far I’m only half-way through Dawn of the Dreadfuls. I did manage to finish a play for school in addition to the 12th Sookie book, Deadlocked.
It’s been pretty quiet lately, just me working on papers most of the time. Twitter has been in an uproar because of some book drama and real life drama, and I’ve been avoiding it all.
On a more fun note, I have been learning how to work with spreadsheets! I know that so many bloggers use spreadsheets to keep track of ARCs, reviews, books read, schedules… But I had no idea how it all worked, so I was stuck with Word. I decided to do something about that lack of knowledge, and it’s been very fun figuring it all out. I’ve mainly been working with stats sheets on which I can track all of my read books. I’ll show some results soon (:
This week on Nyx Book Reviews
- YA Mini-Reviews #1
- Urban Fantasy – Long Goodbyes and New Beginnings
- Review: The Courage of Cat Campbell by Natasha Lowe
Well, it was a good week for diversity! I’m covering middle-grade fiction (The Courage of Cat Campbell), YA fiction, and adult urban fantasy. This new structure of fixed review days is working really well for me.
This week on Irresponsible Cactus
The first Irresponsible Cactus post of the new year! This week I’m reviewing a graphic novel in the Planet of the Apes franchise.
Read this week
- Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward – 5☆
- Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris – 2☆
- Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett – 3☆
- Sex Criminals, Vol. 1: One Weird Trick by Matt Fraction – 1☆
And here I was thinking I barely read this week! Lover Unbound was a book I had largely read last week, but finished on Monday. During the week I finished one novel, one play, and one graphic novel. It wasn’t a good week rating-wise, and it’s even sadder when I consider I also DNFed a book as well. Here’s to hoping next week will be better!
How was your week?
