Review Copy Cleanup 3.0: Wrap Up

I can’t believe the third Review Copy Cleanup is already over! I hope all of you had fun this February and read a huge dent into your review piles.

As final count I read five review books for the RCC. I’m actually quite happy with that. With university and the boyfriend sucking up all of my spare time, I barely sit down to read a book. Reading five books for review means that I’m finally getting back on my normal reading routine (goodbye, stupid slump!).

I really wonder how you guys did. Did you reach all of your goals? Was it hard to stick to reading review books? Share your wrap up post below (:

If you have any feedback on the Review Copy Cleanup, please do let us know! You can either leave a comment below or email me.

I hope you all enjoyed the third Review Copy Cleanup, and hope to see you for round four!

Review Copy Cleanup 3.0: Week Three – Wrap Up & Linky

And the third week has gone by. Can you believe the Cleanup is only for a few more days? I hope you all cleaned up quite a bit of your pile already, and if not, go read! As always you can share your progress post in the Linky below.

Last week I tried to read two books, and I managed to read one of those, The Slither Sisters. I actually reviewed the first part of the series a few days ago (read my review of Professor Gargoyle). The Slither Sisters was a lot of fun, and a perfect read in this stressful uni-time. So far I’m actually doing okay on the reading review books, but the reviewing is the part I’m slacking on. Hopefully that will change next week!

As my last goal post I won’t have any specific books, just these:

  • Finish writing my reviews for the books I read
  • Try to get halfway through any review book on my pile

What are your goals for the last Review Copy Cleanup week?

Review Copy Cleanup 3.0: Week Two – Wrap Up & Linky

We passed the half-way mark! How are you all doing this week? As always you can share your progress post in the Linky below. It would also be great if you visited the posts of fellow participants!

You might remember that in last week’s goal post I was going to try for two books, Eviction Notice and Spirit of Lost Angels. Well, I pulled a classic Celine and didn’t read a word in any of those two, but instead read a novella called One Little White Lie! With poker nights, going to a natural history museum, going book shopping for Valentine’s day, a gaming party and a dressing up party I barely had any time to read, and One Little White Lie was a perfect read for in between. Holiday is over now, so (paradoxically) I might have more time to read next week.

For the upcoming week I’ll try to read two books (and try to stick with it):

Progress:
Spirit of Lost Angels: 0/378
Slither Sisters: 160/160

Review Copy Cleanup 3.0: Week One – Wrap Up & Linky

Whew, the first week of the Review Copy Cleanup, Third Edition, just flew by! If you haven’t signed up yet, do so quickly here, you only have until the 15th to join the fun!

I hope you all had a wonderful week, and preferably one filled with reading. You can share your progress in the Linky below, or see how the other participants are doing. You can also find us talking about Cleanup related stuff on Twitter using the #RCCleanup hashtag.

I set my goals quite low for week one, but it was still quite a surprise for me that I actually managed to finish both books I wanted to finish this week. University is draining all my energy to read and I felt very much in a slump, but I have a week off now and it has done wonders for my reading (my homework is getting neglected though). So far I’ve only posted the review for Medusa the Mean (which is awesome!), but tomorrow I’ll make sure to write my review for Anna 2026 as well (was was really good).

For the upcoming week I’ll try to read two books again:

Progress:

Eviction Notice: 0/325

Spirit of Lost Angels: 0/378

Review Copy Cleanup 3.0: Week One

Aaaaand we’re off! Sign ups for the Review Copy Cleanup are still open, so if you want to join the TBR cleaning fun make sure to check out the Sign Up Post. If you’re joining us feel free to say hi to the participants on Twitter with the #RCCleanup hashtag!

I don’t know about you guys, but I usually can’t predict what I feel like reading in a few weeks. Therefore I will only create weekly goals instead of doing a month goal post. I’ll also post this week’s updates in this post, so remember to come back in a few days (:

With my boyfriend’s birthday and lots of university stuff going on I think I’ll take it easy this week, and only read two books. They are both rather thin and quick reads, perfect for a busy week like this one. Medusa the Mean is the eight book in the Goddess Girls series (check out my review of the first book, Athena the Brain). These books are absolutely awesome, so I’m quite excited to be reading it. Anna 2026 is a fast-paced thriller set in a dystopian-ish world. I already started it before the RCC, and so far it’s been very enjoyable. I’m about halfway, and I can’t wait to continue reading, I want to know if the main character finds his wife back!

Progress:

Medusa the Mean: 240/240 Review
Anna 2026: 176/176

So, what are you guys reading? Do you have any goal posts or do you choose to do a weekly update like me? Do link your posts below so I can visit you (:

Review Copy Cleanup 2013: Sign Up

Welcome to the third Review Copy Cleanup! After two successful editions in 2012, we’re back for another month of review copy reading madness. Whether you have a polite pile or a complete mountain of review books to get through, everyone is welcome to join.

What is the Review Copy Cleanup?

The RCC is a month-long event in which Vicky from Books, Biscuits & Tea and me challenge ourselves to read as many review books as we can. We are both notorious for accepting way too many requests, and consequentely our to be read piles are pretty daunting. For some extra motivation to read, we invented the Review Copy Cleanup. This year we are keeping things simple – no challenges or scheduled chats, just weekly updates so we can all keep track of each other’s process. You’re welcome to keep track of the challenge in the way that’s most convenient for you.

Review Copy Cleanup: Wrap Up

I don’t know what it is, but for some reason I am way better at starting a project than actually finishing it. As you might have seen in my first week update I got off at a great start. And after that I just kind of… drowned in the real life stress zone.

In the end I read four books for review, and one more from my personal stack. At five books total August hasn’t been my best month yet, but it’s not my worst either. Here is the list, titles linking to Goodreads:

  1. League of Strays by L.B. Schulman (my review)
  2. Circuit Theory by Crow & Starck
  3. Fifty Shames of Earl Grey by Fanny Merkin (my review)
  4. Dust Girl by Sarah Zettel (my review)

For those of you that have participated in the Review Copy Cleanup, I hope you enjoyed the event! If you made a wrap up post, feel free to post a comment with the link, I’d love to see how you did (:

Review Copy Cleanup: First Week Update

Whew guys, that first week of the Review Copy Cleanup just flew by! If this is the first time you’re hearing of it, just read this post.

We also had our very first Twitter chat on Friday – an idea we got from the feedback form from the last RCC. It was a lot of fun, although we would love it if more people would join us! The next one is scheduled on Saturday the 18th. I believe it was 9 o’clock European time. That is 19:00 GMT, the internet tells me. Hope to see you there! (:

My first week was actually quite productive, although a rather tumultuous one. In between working mornings, trying to read, move my blog to a new domain and moving out of my parent’s house, it feels like more time than just a puny little week has gone by. In between all this stuff I managed to finish three books. Here are the ones I read (cover goes to Goodreads, link goes to my review):

For the upcoming week, I am going to try for three more. I’ve already started the book Dust Girl by Sarah Zettel, and so far it’s pretty promising (and it’s short!). After that I think I’m going to tackle my unread paperback books, since I haven’t dared touching them at all during the RCC.

How are you all doing with your goals? Let me know in a comment (:

Review Copy Cleanup: Goals & Pile

And we’re off! Today is the first day of the month-long event my bookish friend Vicky and me are hosting: the Review Copy Cleanup! If you haven’t heard of our awesome event, go here to read more about it. Sign ups are still open, so if you’re interested make sure to join the fun (: You can also follow our progress on Twitter, using the #RCCleanup hashtag.

I got a scary pile this time guys. My goal will be to read at least eight books from my pile. Since on a typical month I read around nine books, this should be a reachable goal. Here are the books I have, first paperbacks and then my astounding collection of Netgalleys:

…Right. I guess I will go reading now! *runs off*

If you made a goals post, let me know in the comments so I can visit you back (:
